The temple is dedicated to the goddess Kali who is also known as Shyamala after whom the town of Shimla was named and is a famous tourist attraction. It was built in the year 1845. Constructed during days of the British Raj, Kali Bari Temple is thronged by devotees during Navratri and Kali Puja. Its close proximity to Mall Road. This shrine is thronged by devotees during months of Dusshehra October and Navratri April and September. These months boast of a pleasant climate and are ideal for visitors.
